Professor Paolo Pietro Bianchi is a distinguished leader in the field of surgery, currently serving as a Full Professor of Surgery at the Università di Milano. He is the Director of the Department of General Surgery at ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo in Milan, Italy, and leads the Division of General and Robotic Surgery at the University of Milano’s Ospedali Santi Paolo e Carlo. Additionally, he serves as the President of the Italian Club of Robotic Surgery (ICoRS).

Professor Bianchi has played a pivotal role in advancing robotic surgery, as a founding member of the School of Robotic Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association (CRSA), where he served as Vice President until 2022. He is an active member of numerous scientific committees, including ecancermedicalscience and the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, and has held editorial positions in leading journals such as Frontiers in Oncology and Minerva Surgery.

Over his career, Professor Bianchi has directed numerous live surgery courses on colon cancer and served as faculty for advanced robotic surgery training programs globally, including in Strasbourg, Hong Kong, and Korea. He has performed more than 3,500 robotic procedures and contributed significantly to academic literature, with 124 published documents, over 4,171 citations, and an h-index of 34 (SCOPUS).

Through his extensive academic, clinical, and scientific contributions, Professor Bianchi continues to shape the future of robotic and minimally-invasive surgery on an international scale.
